The only surviving opera of Joseph Bologne Saint-Georges, "Chevalier de Saint-Georges", the first recorded black classical composer. L'Amant Anonyme is the story of Leontine, a young widow, determined to renounce love, who is none the less intrigued by the letters of L'Amant Anonyme,The Anonymous Lover, who, unknown to her, is her friend Valcour, who has spent years loveing her from afar. This tale of hidden identity and romance has been reimagined as a 1960s romantic comedy inspired by the works of Jaques Demy
